speakers were our first

Ensure
that your customers have the perfect loudspeaker
for their unique location.
In
addition to being the third-largest conference
facility in metropolitan Detroit, the Best
Western Sterling Inn of Sterling Heights,
Michigan also offers 250 guest rooms, a full-service
restaurant and state-of-the-art recreational
facilities. The recent addition of an indoor
water park means that the Sterling Inn is
now ideal not only for business meetings
and weddings, but also for family getaways.
Premier
Sound & Communications, Inc.
was contracted to design and install the
sound system in the new water park. This
unique addition presented some complex
challenges. Aside from providing high-quality
music,
the speakers also had to broadcast intelligible
lifeguard and PA announcements. The chosen
speakers would be required to reliably
perform in a warm, humid environment
that was acoustically
hostile – a 23,000-sq.-ft. tiled
area including a 5,000-sq.-ft. pool, a
three-story water slide and numerous nooks
and crannies.

It
was determined that Soundsphere loudspeakers
were the best choice: two model Q-12A and two model QSB-2
loudspeakers would
be hung
from the facility's
30' ceilings. Since so much of the area
is covered by water, a large design challenge
was to place the speakers in locations that
could easily be reached with a lift while
still providing optimal sound. Dave Cenkner,
Premier Sound’s Senior Audio Engineer,
is pleased with the installation, as well
as the final results: "The installation
was smooth and easy. As soon as the power
lift arrived, we were able to mount and wire
the speakers. Everything was done by the
end of the day, and the speakers sound great!"
Likewise,
Sterling Inn's owner, Victor
Martin, is extremely pleased. He says,
"With Soundsphere loudspeakers, we didn’t
have to compromise. We can provide our
visitors with enjoyable music and still
be sure that
every announcement is clearly heard. The
system sounds terrific from every area!"
