| "We
chose the Soundsphere system
because it offered us the
best, most-consistent coverage
with the least number of
speakers. When I walk through
the factory, the transition
from one 'sound zone' to
the next is seamless." –
Ken Bancewicz, Facilities Manager,
Cybex International – Medway,

How
to produce clear, intelligible sound in a factory,
instead of just more noise.
Cybex
International's 75,500-square-foot manufacturing
plant in Medway, MA, produces
fitness equipment that can be found in gyms
and homes around the world. Their production
operations produce varied levels of noise,
as high as 85dB in some of the work zones.
Cybex
wanted to replace their existing unintelligible
system of paging horns.
They asked Antronics,
Inc., of Waltham, MA, to design a system
that could overcome the high background
noise levels. The goal was to provide uniform
paging,
as well as background music. Installation
of Soundsphere Model
Q-8 loudspeakers was
quickly completed. The speakers in each
zone were adjusted to an optimum level
for that
specific zone, and now all workers can
"get the message," regardless of the noise
around them.
"Everywhere
in the plant, even in the highest noise
areas, announcements are clear and
intelligible." – Chris Karimbakas,
Antronics, Inc. – Soundsphere Dealer,
Waltham, MA
