| "We
use some very loud presses
in our manufacturing processes.
To be able to rise above
that level of noise and
be able to understand a
page while out on the manufacturing
floor is a tremendous benefit." –
John White, IS Manager for Dana
Corporation, Victor Reinz Division – Danville,

Intelligible
Paging in the Most Demanding Industrial Environments;
Voice Announcements that Keep Loud Machinery
in the Background.
As
one of the leading innovators in the global
auto supply industry, Dana Corporation
places a high emphasis on quality and efficiency
in its hundreds of facilities worldwide.
Soundsphere loudspeakers are proving to be
a perfect fit in Dana manufacturing plants,
where their broad, 360° coverage and
clear, intelligible voice reproduction are
an excellent audio solution in challenging
industrial applications.
When Dana's
Victor Reinz Division decided to open a
secondary light duty automotive
gasket plant across the street from its
existing Danville, Kentucky facility, Soundsphere
loudspeakers were the clear choice for
a
paging system that needed to be intelligible
over the operation of loud machinery. At
the request of Dana's division IT
manager, Soundsphere sales representative
William
Stewart of Kingston Sales, Inc. was called
in to measure noise levels and design a
speaker system capable of providing the
SPL levels
necessary for intelligibility. Twelve Q-12A and nine Q-8 Soundsphere loudspeakers now
broadcast announcements throughout the
entire 85,000 square-foot facility. The
outstanding
performance of the system has allowed Dana
to use it for emergency announcements,
which it had not originally considered.

"The
speakers work so well in our paging system
that we are also going to utilize
it as an emergency alert system to notify
employees of situations such as evacuations,
a need for medical attention, or severe weather
conditions," says John White, the plant's
IS manager. "We are so impressed that
we are considering upgrading the current
system in our main Danville facility with
Soundsphere speakers."
